Our Story
Background
Igniting Faith Through Sacred Performance Founded in 2023 in response to the See’s call for greater lay involvement, our mission is to revitalize parish life by weaving core Catholic theology into vibrant, lived experience. Observing a growing disconnect among our youth with foundational faith teachings—and noticing the absence of young families in the pews—we set out to bridge the gap through the transformative power of performance art. By combining rich theological truths with engaging storytelling, we create memorable sacred works that inspire audiences of all generations, re-energize our congregations, and welcome families back into the heart of the parish community.
Our Journey & Community Support What began as a shared vision quickly grew into a moving tradition across our local churches. We debuted our inaugural production, The Road to Bethlehem, during Advent 2023, followed by the Lenten performance of John 3:16 across multiple parishes. Since then, productions like John the Baptist and St. Peter’s Journey have continued to deepen our community’s connection to Scripture. The impact and reach of these programs are a direct result of the generous support and partnership of the Knights of Columbus (Council 9476) and the Catholic Women’s League (Diocese of Antigonish Council), whose commitment ensures our sacred stories continue to enrich and unite our parish families.
Looking Forward Evangelite is dedicated to expanding this spiritual impact to parishes across North America. Our goal is to design each Sacred Story work so it can be staged easily and efficiently by any congregation using their existing ministries—equipping local communities to share the beauty of core theology without complex logistics. We are profoundly grateful to the Bishop Power Foundation, whose generous support powers our North American launch and enables us to help parishes everywhere re-energize their pews through the transformative power of sacred performance.
